Naches Valley's Fisk named 2010 Classified Employee of the Year
Congratulations to the 2010 Washington State Classified Employee of the Year, Earl Fisk!
Mr. Fisk is a paraeducator and bus driver at Naches Valley Middle School. Coworkers, administrators, teachers and students have recognized Earl’s unwavering dedication to the students, both in the classroom and in his role as a bus driver and recess supervisor. The nomination was also inspired by an essay written by a Naches Middle School student about “My Bus Driver” – Earl Fisk – which won a state competition.
Earl’s involvement with the school began seven years ago, when he started volunteering in the classroom. He later began working for the Naches Valley School District as a bus driver. Earl also works as a paraeducator, tutoring students in math and science, and also works as a recess and lunch supervisor.
Each year, Public School Employees of Washington (PSE) presents the award to the top school support staff person in the state. Nominations for the award are sought beginning in January and the selection is made in the spring. A formal presentation, including a video production, was made at PSE’s annual convention July 23 in Yakima.
